At the ravitaillement, 4-man breakaway arrived first.I got there in time.
The publicity caravan had passed. There were so many people at the
finish. I tried to get to somewhere I could see the rider in the front row.
I walked about 2km down the parcours but there were still so many
spectators. So many discarded plastic cups! The smell of beer! The
finish area looked just like that of Formula 1 Grand Prix in Monaco, only
here in Autum everything was slightly vulgar and unsophisticated.
People were watching the race below through the windows, from the
balcony or on the rooftop.
